Body Treatments

Acid Peels

The Treatment

Chemical peels are commonly used for face treatments, but they can also be used on the body.

Acids at much higher concentrations are used, up to 70% glycolic acid is available for body treatments, where the skin is thicker and more resilient. The principles are the same as the facial peels, though the skin to be treated is also exfoliated to get a better result.

The Benefits

Chemical peels can help with spotty and scaly skin on the backs of the arms, back and shoulders and bottom. Weekly sessions for a total of 6 treatments can leave your skin soft and bump-free.

Radio Frequency skin tightening - Body

The Treatment

Radio-frequency ( RF ) works using the principles of diathermy ( deep heating ). RF uses very short wavelengths to penetrate the skin without affecting the nerves or muscles. The increase in temperature caused by the vibration of the RF waves is around 4-5 degrees centigrade. This temperature rise improves blood flow, cell metabolism and lymph circulation, boosting oxygen and nutrient uptake. The heat tightens the elastin fibres which connect the skin to the muscle and promotes collagen production.

The Benefits

RF treatments can be used on the tummy, arms and other areas where the tone and tightness of the skin needs to be improved. The treatment is warm without being uncomfortable and can be carried out at weekly intervals until the required results are achieved.

UltraCav Fat Treatments

The Treatment

UltraCav works using selective ultrasound frequencies which penetrate the skin and act directly on the fat cells and cellulite found beneath the surface. Bubbles of steam are produced from the water found in the body, in a process known as cavitation. These bubbles implode, producing minuscule shockwaves which selectively damage fat cell membranes, causing them to break down and release the liquified fat. This is picked up by the lymphatic system and taken to the liver and kidneys where it can be excreted by the body.

The Benefits

Lipo without the surgery. This is a great way to lose fat from specific areas without having to go under the knife. No incisions, injections or anaesthetic.

IPL Hair Removal

The Treatment

IPL works because the light is attracted to the melanin found in hair, it is absorbed, causing the hair to heat up, damaging the follicle so no new hair will grow.

The darker and coarser the hair, the better the results. As skin also contains melanin it is important to get the balance right between targeting the melanin in the hair as opposed to the skin. This means IPL will work better on lighter skin tones with dark hair, although most skin types can be treated. Because white or grey hairs contain no melanin, IPL will not be effective on them. Once treated, the hair may seem to be still growing, however, what is actually happening is the dead hair is being pushed out as the skin renews itself.

The Benefits

If you are fed-up of shaving, waxing and plucking and are looking for a more permanent solution to hair removal, then IPL is for you. After a consultation and successful patch test you are ready to go.
